Grow your Restaurant with Proven Local SEO and AI SEO
Restaurant SEO Agency for Locations, Groups and Franchises
Nobody searches for “a restaurant.” They search for birria tacos at 9 pm, brunch with a patio, or a place that can seat twelve on Friday. A restaurant SEO agency’s job is to win those searches: in Google, in Google Maps, and now in AI assistants.
What restaurant SEO is, and what it costs here
Restaurant SEO is the work of getting a restaurant found in Google Search, Google Maps and AI assistants when nearby diners search for a cuisine, a dish or a place to eat "near me." Lifted Websites publishes its restaurant SEO pricing: $800 per month for one location, $2,000 per month for up to three locations in one metro, and $3,000 to $10,000+ per month for franchise and multi-state brands.
We are a Scottsdale, Arizona agency that has done SEO since 2009, and we work with restaurants nationwide.
Nobody searches for "a restaurant." They search for birria tacos at 9 pm, brunch with a patio, or a place that can seat twelve on Friday. The search happens on a phone, the decision takes about a minute, and the winner is usually whoever shows up in the map results with good photos, a readable menu and recent reviews.
That is the whole job. The rest of this page covers what the work includes, what it costs, who should not hire us, and what you can fix yourself this week without paying anyone.
What a restaurant SEO agency actually does
A restaurant SEO agency makes sure each location is eligible, accurate and persuasive everywhere a hungry person looks. Google says local results are ranked mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot move your building, so the work goes into relevance and prominence. For us that means six things:
- Google Business Profile management. Categories, attributes (patio, reservations, delivery, kid-friendly), menu link, order and reservation buttons, weekly photos and posts. This listing feeds Google Maps and the local pack, so our Google Business Profile optimization process runs first.
- A menu Google can read. PDF and image menus hide your dishes from search. We rebuild the menu as HTML text so "chicken fried steak" or "gluten-free pizza" can match a dish search, then mark it up with Restaurant and Menu schema.
- Listings and NAP consistency. The same name, address, phone and hours on Yelp, TripAdvisor, OpenTable, Apple Maps, Bing Places and the delivery apps. Conflicting hours cost you diners and confuse the AI assistants that read those sources.
- Location and cuisine pages. One real page per location, with parking, neighborhood, private dining and catering details. Keyword research and on-page optimization happen here, built around how people in your city actually search.
- Reviews and local links. A simple review request routine for staff, a reply to every review, and link building from local press, food writers, event listings and suppliers.
- Speed and mobile. Almost all restaurant searches happen on a phone. We hold the site to Google's Core Web Vitals and follow Google's local business structured data guidelines so hours, price range and reservations can show in results.
Restaurant SEO pricing
Restaurant SEO at Lifted Websites is a flat monthly retainer based on how many Google Business Profiles we manage. None of the agency pages ranking for this topic publish a price. We do, because a restaurant owner should be able to check the math before getting on a call.
| Restaurant type | Plan | Price | What it covers |
| Single location: restaurant, bar or cafe | Local SEO | $800/mo | 1 Google Business Profile, HTML menu and schema, listings cleanup, review routine, monthly report |
| Restaurant group, up to 3 locations in one metro | Multi-Local Plus | $2,000/mo | Up to 3 managed profiles, unlimited location and city pages in that metro, per-location call tracking |
| Each additional location | Add-on | +$800/mo | One more managed profile with its own location page and reporting line |
| Franchise or multi-state brand | Custom | $3,000–$10,000+/mo | Location page system, franchisee governance, national and AI search visibility, rollout plan |
Full plan details are on our pricing page. If you also need a new site, our Website as a Service plans cover restaurant website design with the menu and ordering links built in from day one.
The delivery app math most owners skip
DoorDash charges restaurants a commission of 15%, 25% or 30% on delivery orders depending on the plan, and 6% on pickup orders, according to DoorDash's published merchant pricing as of September 2026. An order placed directly on the restaurant's own website avoids that marketplace commission.
Every diner who searches your name or your signature dish and lands on a delivery app instead of your own ordering page is a sale you paid for twice. Ranking your own site first for those searches is often the fastest payback in restaurant SEO. Here is the math with round numbers:
Illustrative example, not a client result. Your order count, ticket size and plan will differ, and direct orders still carry payment processing fees.
Who we are a fit for, and who we are not
We are the right agency for restaurants with real revenue, more than one reason to be found, and someone who will answer our questions. We are the wrong one for a few common situations, and it is cheaper for both of us to say so here.
| Your situation | Fit | Why |
| 2 to 10 locations in one region | ✅ Best fit | Location pages, per-profile management and per-location call tracking compound across the group. |
| One busy location that wants more direct orders, reservations or catering | ✅ Good fit | The $800 plan is built for this, and catering and private dining pages usually pay first. |
| Franchise brand with franchisee pages | ✅ Custom | Needs governance for who edits what, plus a page system that scales past 20 locations. |
| Not open yet, or open under 3 months | ⚠️ Not yet | Claim the profile, launch a fast site with an HTML menu, and collect your first 50 reviews. Then call. |
| Marketing budget under $500 per month | ❌ Not us | An $800 retainer would crowd out everything else. Use the free checklist below. |
| Rating under 4.0 stars | ❌ Fix first | SEO sends more people to read the reviews. It cannot change what they say. |
| You mainly need social media, influencers or food photography | ❌ Not what we do | We do search: Google, Maps, AI assistants and Google Ads. |
Restaurant groups and franchises are a different problem
Multi-location restaurant SEO is mostly a data and governance problem. Twenty locations means twenty Google Business Profiles, twenty sets of hours, and twenty chances for a holiday closure to be wrong on Apple Maps. Each location needs its own page with its own menu, staff photos and neighborhood details. Copying one page and swapping the city name gets those pages filtered out.
One of our restaurant clients is Cotton Patch Cafe, a chain of scratch-made comfort food restaurants in Texas and New Mexico. When the brand moved its website from WordPress to Storyblok, a headless CMS, there was no SEO plugin to lean on anymore. Titles, location pages, menus and structured data all had to be specified by hand and checked in the rendered page. Most restaurant groups hit that same wall when they replatform, whether the destination is a headless CMS, a Toast or Popmenu site, or a custom build.
💡 Replatforming a restaurant site?
Before launch, get a redirect map for every old location and menu URL, confirm Restaurant schema renders on each location page, and test that the ordering and reservation links survive. Our multi-location SEO and franchise SEO pages cover how we run this for larger brands.
Getting recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI answers
AI assistants recommend restaurants from the same public sources Google uses: the Business Profile, reviews, the menu, listings and press mentions. "Where should I take my parents for dinner in Old Town Scottsdale" is now a ChatGPT question as often as a Google one. Three things raise the odds of being named:
- Facts as text. Hours, price range, dietary options, parking and private dining capacity written in plain HTML, not inside images or a PDF.
- Reviews that name dishes and occasions. An assistant answering "best chicken fried steak near me" leans on reviews that say those words.
- Crawler access. The site has to allow GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and Bingbot. Some hosts block them by default, and ChatGPT search reads from the Bing index.
We track this with Ahrefs Brand Radar and GA4 referral data as part of our AI SEO services, alongside the normal Google reporting.
What you can do yourself this week, free
A single-location owner can cover the first 60% of restaurant SEO in about four hours. Do these five before you pay anyone, including us:
- Claim your Google Business Profile, pick the most specific primary category, and fill in every attribute.
- Replace the PDF menu on your website with typed text, with prices.
- Search your restaurant on Yelp, TripAdvisor, Apple Maps and Bing. Fix any hours or phone number that does not match.
- Reply to your last 20 reviews, good and bad, in your own voice.
- Upload 10 new photos: the room, the three best sellers, the patio, the front door from the street.
✅ Then measure it
Check calls, direction requests and website clicks in your profile's performance report 30 days later. If those numbers moved and you want the next 40%, that is where we come in.
How we measure restaurant SEO
Lifted Websites reports restaurant SEO on four numbers per location: phone calls tracked through CallRail, direction requests from the Google Business Profile, clicks to reservation and ordering links measured in GA4, and search visibility from Google Search Console. Rankings are reported, but they are never the headline.
A restaurant does not need more traffic. It needs more covers, more direct orders and more catering inquiries, so every monthly report leads with those.
Restaurant SEO questions owners ask us
How much does restaurant SEO cost?
Restaurant SEO at Lifted Websites costs $800 per month for a single location, $2,000 per month for a group with up to three locations in one metro area, and $3,000 to $10,000 or more per month for franchise and multi-state brands. Each location past the first three adds $800 per month. There is no setup fee hidden in a proposal, and the prices on this page are the prices you will be quoted.
Is SEO still worth it for a restaurant in 2026?
Yes, if the restaurant is already good and the numbers support it. Diners still pick where to eat from Google Maps, and AI assistants now pull from the same sources: your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your menu and your website. SEO is not worth it for a restaurant with a rating problem or a marketing budget under $500 per month. Fix the rating first, and use the free checklist on this page.
Can I do restaurant SEO myself?
Yes. A single-location owner can cover the basics without an agency: claim and complete the Google Business Profile, put the menu on the website as text instead of a PDF, keep the name, address and phone number identical everywhere, reply to every review, and add new photos every month. An agency starts to pay for itself when there are multiple locations, a competitive metro, or nobody on staff with four hours a week to spare.
What is the 30/30/30 rule for restaurants, and where does SEO fit?
The 30/30/30 rule for restaurants is a budgeting guideline that puts roughly 30% of revenue toward food cost, 30% toward labor and 30% toward overhead such as rent, utilities and marketing, leaving about 10% as profit. SEO sits inside the overhead 30%. That is why a retainer has to be sized against revenue, and why we tell very small restaurants to start with the free work.
How long does restaurant SEO take to work?
We tell restaurant owners to expect Google Business Profile and Google Maps movement within 30 to 90 days, and website rankings for cuisine and dish searches within four to six months. New location pages take longer in crowded metros. We report calls, direction requests, reservation clicks and direct orders every month, so you can see whether the trend is real before the rankings settle.
Can ChatGPT or another AI tool do my restaurant's SEO?
AI tools can draft menu descriptions, review replies and page copy, and we use them for that. They cannot verify a Google Business Profile, fix conflicting listings on Yelp and Apple Maps, earn local links, or tell you which location is losing calls. Treat AI as a fast assistant. The strategy, the accounts and the measurement still need a person who is accountable for the result.
Want to know what your locations are missing?
Send us your restaurant's name and city. We will check your Google Business Profile, menu, listings and AI visibility, and tell you plainly whether the $800 plan, the group plan or the free checklist is the right next step.

Working with TJ and Lifted Websites has been an incredible experience. I own and operate two home-service companies, each serving a unique vertical and a very specific clientele within the HVAC industry. TJ took the time to truly understand both businesses, our customers, and the vision behind each brand. The difference between Lifted Websites and the agency I previously worked with has been night and day. TJ provides a level of customized service and strategic thinking that is difficult to find. He is extremely knowledgeable and well-versed in all things AI, search, and SEO, and he understands how these technologies are changing the way customers find and choose service-based businesses. His communication is excellent, every deliverable has been completed on time, and he consistently makes the entire process feel organized and collaborative. One of the things I appreciate most is being able to bounce ideas off TJ, brainstorm together, and develop a clear strategic vision for the future. He listens, contributes thoughtful ideas, and genuinely cares about helping our businesses succeed. TJ is an absolute pleasure to work with, and I would highly recommend Lifted Websites to any home-service business looking for a knowledgeable, dependable, forward-thinking, and creative website and marketing partner.Posted on Google![]()
