How to Add Delegate Access to Your Network Solutions Account
Sharing your full Network Solutions login with a developer or agency is risky. But fortunately, Network Solutions allows you to add additional contacts with specific permission levels — a safer alternative to handing over your primary username and password.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to add a delegate (sub-user) to your Network Solutions account so they can manage DNS, domains, or technical settings without full access to billing, ownership, or sensitive account changes.
Understanding Network Solutions Roles
Network Solutions handles access using several “contact” roles. Each one grants a different level of control. Choose the role that gives your collaborator only the access they need — nothing more.
- Primary Contact — Full account control including billing, renewals, ownership, and contact information.
- Admin Contact — Can manage domains, hosting, billing, and renewals, but cannot change WHOIS registrant details.
- Technical (Tech) Contact — Can manage DNS, domain settings, and technical functions. Ideal for developers working on website setup or migrations.
For most web projects, “Tech Contact” is the safest and most appropriate role. How to Add Delegate Access in Network Solutions
The exact labels may vary slightly depending on the version of your dashboard, but the steps remain the same across accounts.
- Log In to Your Network Solutions Account
Visit networksolutions.com and sign in with your primary account credentials. - Go to “Accounts & Users”
Click your profile icon or username at the top right of the dashboard. From the dropdown, choose “Accounts & Users” or a similar option depending on your interface. - Select the Account You Want to Manage
If you have multiple products (domains, hosting plans, email), choose the one you want to grant access to, then click “Manage”. - Scroll to “User Roles & Permissions”
Inside your account settings, look for the section labeled “User Roles & Permissions”. This is where you can add or edit contacts. - Click “Add User”
Select the option to “Add User” or “Add Contact”. Network Solutions uses contacts as the method of granting delegated access. - Enter the Delegate’s Information
Fill out the form with your developer or agency’s details:- Full Name
- Email Address
- Role (Primary, Admin, or Tech)
Choose Tech Contact unless someone specifically needs billing access.
- Save and Send the Invitation
Click “Save,” “Add,” or “Invite”. Network Solutions will send an email asking the new delegate to accept access. Once accepted, they’ll be able to log in and manage the items allowed by their role.
How to Remove or Update Delegate Access
Once your project is complete, you can remove or update a user’s role at any time:
- Go back to Accounts & Users
- Select your account
- Find the delegate under User Roles & Permissions
- Edit or remove their access
This keeps your account secure and ensures no old collaborators retain unnecessary control.
