I noticed the main vendor we buy domain names from had Google +1 at the top in their header with over 10 +1s so far. This made me search their main keyword first listed in their site title “Domain Names” to see where they rank organically and to see if this is having an effect yet on rankings.
The first thing I noticed when searching “Domain Names” on Google was new Google Adword Pay Per Click ads that had “Offers” in the ad themselves. This is the first time I have seen this extension and I couldn’t replicate it with any other keywords yet.
After clicking on the Offer there is a page where you can Print the coupon. And in this case most people will copy and paste the promo code since it is an offer for 50% off Network Solutions Private Domain Name Registration. (Figured I add this and show them some love since I clicked on their ad to see how the offer works, even though I don’t use them).
Not sure if they are testing this or slowly rolling this out. I haven’t been able to find anyone else talking about it yet. The new offers ad text take up a lot of space and sure does push down the organic real estate really only making the number 1 and 2 positions the most prevalent above the fold.
Google offers could be Google’s next billion dollar product since Groupon made this segment so hot and integrating this option in Google Adwords ad placement can improve CTRs big time.
Anyone else see this? What do you think?
